Service facilities
The service facilities of the city of Hamburg provide assistance to the Hamburg network partners from science in their dual career services. It is possible to reach these services via the contact persons of the network members or directly by the dual career couples.
Federal Employment Agency

International and Specialized Services (Zentralstelle für Arbietsvermittlung, ZAV) assists finding operational and executive talent for:
- board of directors, management
- unit, chief departmental, and departmental leadership
- workshop and operations management
- team leadership
- management with an interest in self-employment
- clients are predominantly medium-sized companies, but also include large companies and public institutions, research institutions, clinics, foundations, and associations
Services for applicants:
- Assessment and advice on application strategies and on developments in the relevant job market
- timely publication of the application for advertised positions
- advice on becoming self-employed
Services for employers:
- prompt and customized presentation of candidate profiles
- advice on the current situation and developments in the management staff market
- advice on addressing individual markets
Information on the recognition of qualifications and professional expertise earned abroad
The International Placement Service (IPS) provides advice to managers from abroad on:
- employment and training opportunities
- living and working conditions
- possibilities under the German social security system
and assists in:
- looking for a job in Germany, particularly for in-demand professions
- the application process
- questions on work permit eligibility or recognition of professional experience

- Comeback
Advice (in German only) on returning to the workforce after parental leave
Supports women who are looking to return to the workforce after being out of the workplace for at least one year for family-related reasons, whether child care or caring for a dependent family member.
The project offers systematic coaching, advice, and qualification services (both online and in-person). Advice for members of this target group is free thanks to funding from the European Social Fund.
- Worklife
Worklife advises mothers and fathers before and during their parental leave, as well as after their return to work on all matters of professional development (including planning parental leave), continuing education and job search, and provides specific assistance for the return to the workplace.
